Backstory

Create the story, timeline and universe of Ascension. The backstory gives the justification for everything within the game.

Concept Art (2D)

As explained by its title, this department produces images and  graphics to hand off to moddeling which represent what items should look and feel like to the players. The basic feeling here is not to be above anyone or self-important in the creation  process. Instead we are attempting to solidify many team members suggestions and dreams into enough detail so that we can discuss and understand what is going to be made. The RenWerX project concept art is also based on community discussions about each of the aspects of the game or MODd we are trying to create.

Skinning

The weapons you fire, the grenades you throw, the armor you wear, the assets you repair and destroy: we essentially get to put shiny wrapping paper on all of these, called "skins". All objects in the game need a texture/shader, and we are the ones who make them. We are always looking for applicants, so if you think you can help us, feel free to contact us!

Sound FX

The principles involved with modern video game sound effects (since the introduction of sample playback) are essentially the same as those of motion pictures. Typically a game project requires two jobs to be completed: sounds must be recorded or selected from a library and a sound engine must be programmed so that those sounds can be incorporated into the game's interactive environment.
